1 Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; praise Him in His mighty expanse. 2 Praise Him for His mighty deeds; praise Him according to His excellent greatness. 3 Praise Him with trumpet sound; praise Him with harp and lyre. 4 Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. 5 Praise Him with loud cymbals; praise Him with resounding cymbals. 6 Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! (Psalm 150 – NASB95)
It’s summer and our theme is the “Summer Psalms.” Different men from our church will be preaching each week through all or part of a psalm. Last Sunday we looked at Psalm 150. I was profoundly encouraged and convicted by its call to “Praise the LORD!” If you weren’t with us, please go on our church app or website and listen to the sermon.
As a follow up, I have given you a few of the many verses in the Bible that call us to praise the LORD. Please read through them slowly, out loud, looking for when, where, how, and why we are to praise the LORD. Then make a commitment to spend more time each day praising Him. Do it privately. Do it publicly. Do it corporately with your church family (be loud). Do it in the shower. Do it in your car. Do it when you wake up. Do it before you go to sleep. Do it in prayer. Do it in song. Do it when things are going well. Do it when nothing appears to be going right. Do it with great joy. Do it with instruments. Do it as a testimony. Do it with all your being.
