Sundays
What should characterize the speech of a Christian? In Biblical Counseling last week, we talked about a theology of the tongue (it’s like a gate, weapon, fire, sword, rudder, fountain), the difference between fleshly speech (filthy, silly, course jesting, deceptive, empty, unfruitful) and spiritual speech (thankful, and uplifting), and what our tongues can do (reveal our heart, heal others, condemn ourselves). We wrapped up talking through Luke 6:45 and how our heart determines what comes out of us.
Wednesdays
As we wrapped up the flood account, we talked about how the rainbow is both a symbol of God’s covenant with Noah not to destroy all life with a flood, and at the same time reminds us that God is a just and holy God. The reminder brought us to Genesis 10 where we see the next link in the historical chain by quickly glancing at the lineage of Noah and his sons. Several names stood out along with the repeated phrase, “with his own language, by their clans, in their nations.” We will be looking at the cause for these national and linguistic splits next week.

Bridge Youth exists to make God famous (1 Cor. 10:31) by encouraging teens to take the next step in our Spiritual walk (2 Peter 1:3–11), to value Jesus and His Word above all (Col 1:15-20), to commit ourselves to personal and corporate worship (John 4:21–24), and to share our faith with others in our world (Matt 18:28–29).
All 6th through 12th-grade students are welcome!
