More about “Faithful Men”…

The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.

Paul knew that his time for working with faithful men was OVER! Timothy must continue the work. So, Paul wanted to make sure that this was Timothy’s focus. There was NOTHING more important.

Paul taught Timothy, who taught faithful men, who then taught other faithful men. And this has continued for 2,000 years! Faithful men taught me, and other faithful men taught them, and so on all the way back to Timothy and Paul.

What about you? Who have been the faithful men teaching you? Who have you been teaching?

Maybe you’re a faithful man who has also taught others.

Maybe you’re a faithful man who has not yet taught others.

Maybe you’re a man who is still learning to become a faithful man.

Maybe you’re a man who wants to become a faithful man.

No matter which of these describes you, we are looking to get as many men at The Bridge as possible to participate in a new training program that is patterned after Paul’s charge to Timothy. We’re calling this training time, “Faithful Men.”

The invitation for this training is offered to every man in the church. Even all of the pastors and the elders of The Bridge will be participating in the training. We are all motivated to keep learning and growing by these words from the Apostle Paul in Philippians 3:12-14,

Not that I have already obtained it or have already become perfect, but I press on so that I may lay hold of that for which I was also laid hold of by Christ Jesus. Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do; forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.”
