We have been blessed to have Joe Leinen (and Jimmy Augur) working with our youth ministry for the past 5+ years. When Joe let us know after much prayer that he would not be continuing in that role, we began asking the LORD to provide a really special pastor (and family) to take over this most vital ministry in our church. I want you to know that the LORD heard our prayers and answered abundantly with an early Christmas present to our church: the Borchardt family!
Jeff & Jessica and their 5 children (Jeff, Jean, Jonathan, Judson, and Jubilee) have moved into the house next to the main driveway entrance to the church. Jeff will begin his official duties in January, but the whole family is already getting acclimated to our church and its ministries. They come to us after 14 years in Guam and 2 years in Taiwan where Jeff taught math & science to secondary students and coached basketball. When they returned to the U.S., they spent 1 year in Wisconsin (near family) before coming to So Cal so Jeff could attend The Master’s Seminary. If you notice a motorhome on the church property, that was their home for the past 4 months before moving into the house last weekend. A family of 7 people living in a motorhome for that long… they are a close-knit family, and they really love each other!
We will let you know a lot more about them in the coming days. Please go out of your way to meet them, welcome them, ask how to pray for them, and help them feel very welcomed and loved here at The Bridge. God heard our prayers and blessed us super abundantly with this precious family. Let’s be a blessing to them too!
