You Did It Again: Hope of The Valley Outreach

YOU DID IT AGAIN! You went above and beyond and showed incredible generosity in our outreach to the Hope of The Valley Rescue Mission!

Wednesday morning, around 10:30 am, Dean, Victoria, and I (Mika) began loading Dean’s van with all the items you so generously have been donating the last couple of weeks.

Julie Pircey and Mary Forrest had so kindly spent time receiving the items at the church. And Victoria had diligently organized all the things to make it easier for Hope of The Valley to store.

The van was packed as we drove off to Hope of The Valley’s location.

When we arrived, we met with Fonda Rosing, who is our contact person at the ministry. She showed us the location to drop off the items on their property.

A couple of volunteers from the ministry came to help us unload the van. Fonda was almost in tears as we began unloading all the socks, towels, shampoos, toiletries, laundry detergent, sugar, coffee, shavers etc. because of the sheer volume of items donated. She tried her best to express her gratitude in words, but her facial expression said it all. She had not expected that many things. She said, “Wow! That’s all the items on the list.”

She was SO thankful and wanted to make sure that I shared their thankfulness with you!

As we said goodbye and rolled out of their parking lot, it felt great knowing that we could bless them in this way and made a strong statement about Christian love. All people are created in the image of God with equal worth, value, and dignity no matter their circumstances in life. Although our deepest desire is to see everyone come to know Christ as their Lord and Savior, we always want to extend Christ’s love to others in tangible ways. For example, by helping those who are hurting in life.

Besides the donated items, we gave Hope of The Valley New Testament Bibles, including our church’s gospel tracts, to reach them beyond their physical needs.

I checked my email when we came back to the church and saw an email from Fonda saying,

Hi Mika,

I cannot adequately express our gratitude to you and everyone at The Bridge Bible Fellowship for your generous gift.

There are enough supplies so that our Shelter Coordinator will be able to provide 3 of our Family shelter homes, the shelter we have here in Pacoima and our 2 bridge shelters in North Hollywood and Van Nuys, with the essential supplies you have blessed us with!

You have truly made everyone’s day!

Fonda

I have been at The Bridge for three years now, and I’m constantly blown away by your generosity! It is such a testimony of God’s love, grace, and provision in your life!

THANK YOU!
